This classic hosta forms a lush mound of green, heart-shaped foliage and sends up tall flower stalks with lavender-purple blooms in summer. It is a dependable perennial for shaded borders, woodland-style gardens, beneath trees, and north-facing foundations.

Hostas return each spring and gradually form larger clumps. Their summer flowers attract hummingbirds and pollinators. Because deer and slugs may browse hostas, protect plants where these pests are common.
