How to Use LECA

1. Rinse Thoroughly

Place the clay pebbles in a bowl or colander and rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove loose dust.

2. Prepare the Plant

Remove the plant from its current pot. Gently remove as much soil as possible from the roots and trim away dead or damaged roots.

3. Add a Base Layer

Add a layer of rinsed LECA to the bottom of the container.

4. Position the Plant

Place the plant in the center and carefully add more LECA around the roots. Gently shake or tap the pot to help the pebbles settle into open spaces.

5. Add Water

For a semi-hydroponic setup, add water to create a small reservoir below the main root area. Avoid completely submerging the root system.

6. Maintain the Setup

Check the water level regularly and refill as needed. Periodically flush the LECA with clean water to reduce mineral buildup.
